Flu Vaccine – Did you know?

GP Practices have to order their flu vaccines for the flu season up to 12 months in advance. If you had your flu vaccine at the Practice in 2017 we have placed an order for you for 2018. Therefore if you are planning to get your flu vaccine somewhere else, please let us know so that we can amend the order.

For the coming flu season (September 2018) Central surgery will again be offering the quadrivalent flu vaccines - this means you are covered for four strains of flu. Most pharmacies offer the trivalent vaccine which covers you for three strains of flu.

In September 2018, for those patients aged over 65 years, we will be offering the adjuvant trivalent vaccine, which we are advised, by NHS England, is the most effective vaccine for this age group.

If you need any further information please look on the NHS Choices website or ask at the surgery.
