Appointments

Appointments can be made in person or by telephone whenever the surgery is open. If you wish to speak to the doctor on the telephone, we recommend you ring before 11:00 or after 15:00.

You can also book online via the link at the top of this page (registration required).

Consultations are by appointment only, although urgent cases will always be seen the same day.

Routine Appointments

You can book appointments up to 4 weeks in advance with the GP of your choice (depending on availability) or the practice nurse.

Urgent (on the day) Appointments

Urgent appointments are with ANY available GP - and not necessarily the GP of your choice.

If your need is urgent we will offer you an appointment on the same day (subject to availability).  This will often be for conditions that are:

  • Severe
  • Persisting or getting worse despite medication for the pharmacist
  • Have not previously cleared up within a few days
  • Children under the age of 5
  • Women with problems during pregnancy
  • Terminally ill patients

If all of the appointments have been used and you feel that you cannot wait and want to be assessed urgently (i.e. same day) the staff will take your details and pass to the doctor on duty.  The doctor will decide on the best course of action and either the doctor or receptionist will call you back to discuss further.

If your chosen doctor is not available, you may have to wait until he / she is available, alternatively you may book an appointment with another available doctor.

We are a training Practice. There are occasions when a student doctor or nurse may attend some consultations, your consent will be asked before seeing the doctor.

Please note that all "book on the day appointments" will be released at 8am. These will be released on a "first come, first served" basis. Once all the appointments are used, patients will be asked to ring back the following morning.
