Meningitis B update
At present there is a national shortage of Men B vaccine for private prescriptions, given the recent media attention.
NHS patients will still be provided for and private patients will be able to complete their course if they have already started, however it is being advised not to start new vaccination courses for now.
GSK (Glaxo Smithkline) who manufacture the vaccine are increasing production of the vaccine; hopefully there will be more supplies available in the summer.
If you would like more information regarding this you can go to Meningitis.Org website and there is also a helpline number to use for any enquiries regarding clinics that may be able to provide a private vaccination service.

- live in a residential or nursing home
- are the main carer for an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if they fall ill
- are a healthcare or social care professional directly involved in patient care
- work with poultry
